Weekly Challenge 65: Bridges

And I’m not talking about party bridges, but about physical bridges, those that serve to overcome an obstacle such as a river, a railroad, a ravine?

Every week I will propose a new challenge, it is a topic that you will have to capture in a photo and upload it to the Facebook page of the blog by putting in the description the keyword that I will indicate for each topic. from portraits to macro photography, landscapes, black-and-white photography, or babies. The themes will be offered on Saturday, so you have the whole weekend to work. You’ll have one week to upload your photo (one photo per participant), until Friday of the following week. Friday or Saturday I will update the article with the photo that most captivated me and propose a new theme, and so on?

  • Made of wood.
  • Concrete.
  • Iron? There are many materials with which a bridge can be built.
  • But all are used to move from one place to another.
  • To bring distances closer and to overcome geographical or artificial obstacles.

I’d like you to send us a picture of one of them this week. You don’t have to look for the most spectacular, but you don’t have to photograph “his good side”, you show his most attractive part. a good image with a good frame, change perspective, take care of the composition, play with the point of escape, or with the lights of the cars that go through it, its reflection, or does it tell the story of someone who passes through it? In short, put into practice what you learn in this blog and show us your skills with the camera!

As usual, to participate in this week’s challenge, upload your photo to the Facebook wall of the photographer’s blog: In the description of the photo, include the keyword? Bridge challenge? followed by a title of your choice.

For non-Facebook users, I have enabled the participation of new social networks.

Good picture

After crossing a lot of bridges throughout the entire geography of planet Earth, I am very happy to see the level of participation increase every day not only in quantity, but also in quality. And it makes me think that you are really diligent students and after reading the post that we are doing on the blog, you are fulfilling your task, which is to train to learn. There are many bridges that I would have liked to share with you in the gallery, but since we can not put them all, I leave you a small sample, if you want to see more I invite you to take a look at it. through photos of other participants, both on Facebook, Twitter and Flickr.

And since I can only point out one, I prefer the Lourdes Arias Bridge, its author knew how to take advantage of the aerial perspective, creating a greater sense of depth due to the blur caused by the fog, this seems to me a very beautiful composition, he left the most focused part out from the center, to the right of the image, respecting the law of three thirds, however, in the vertical plane the focus is practically in the center and in this case it is a success because it improves the symmetry of the reflection of the water. that forms the bridge clearly directs the viewer’s gaze towards the trees, only to be lost again in the mist and tangle of branches. Not only does it strike me as a very beautiful image aesthetically speaking, but it also conveys a strong aura of enhanced mystery not only because of the fog, but because of its colors. I can feel the cold, the absolute silence and the fear of someone who is at the beginning of the bridge and not dare to cross it, in fact I don’t have one. You still dared to cross it, do you want to accompany me?

Bravo Lourdes, your photograph could perfectly be the cover of a mystery book that would buy me without hesitation!?
