Weekly Challenge 46: Summary

On this cold but sunny Sunday morning, I welcome you to the 46th edition of the Weekly Challenge. Photography is not just a faithful portrait of what our eyes see, sometimes it goes further. Welcome to the abstract challenge.

Every week I will propose a new challenge, it is a topic that you will have to capture in a photo and upload it to the Facebook page of the blog by putting in the description the keyword that I will indicate for each topic. from portraits to macro photography, landscapes, black-and-white photography, or babies. The themes will be offered on Saturday, so you have the whole weekend to work. You’ll have one week to upload your photo (one photo per participant), until Friday of the following week. Friday or Saturday I will update the article with the photo that most captivated me and propose a new theme, and so on?

  • Expressing yourself through abstract photography is always difficult.
  • You don’t know what to express.
  • It’s not like seeing a beautiful poppy and going to photograph it.
  • No.
  • In abstract photography you’re going to represent fading colored circles.
  • Or the texture of a strawberry’s skin.
  • Enlarged to the max What are you going to say about it?In addition.
  • “non-abstract” photography seems to be more appreciated.
  • A photograph of a beautiful landscape.
  • Portrait or photo of a pet triumphs and arouses much more admiration and applause than an abstract photograph.
  • You can let your skin work for hours and hours.
  • Hours in an excellent abstract photo.
  • But in the end.
  • When it comes to showing it to the world.
  • Come and tell you.
  • With a face of concern.
  • “Excuse me.
  • What is it supposed to be?.
  • No.
  • It’s really cool.
  • But at the moment I’m not falling in love with uncle’ (replace uncle with wey.
  • Che.
  • Or whatever you want to call friend wherever you are).

For all the difficulties that this type of photography entails, by the enrichment of this exercise for our creative capacity and the fact that authentic abstract photographic works can be performed on days of boredom in which you have no means or ideas, I call the Weekly Challenge. 46 with the abstract theme.

You have a week (a little less) to use your camera and take an abstract photograph, as its name suggests it should be an abstract photograph of each element, object or subject easily recognizable, if you have never practiced this type of photography before, I recommend you look for inspiration through a search on Flickr, 500px or Pinterest before addressing the subject.

It’s not worth photographing an abstract painting. It’s not about reproducing the work of an abstract painter, it’s about becoming an abstract artist. No brush, but with camera.

There are many ways to get an abstract photograph, here are some tips and tricks to get started:

You have a camera. Upstairs you have some ideas, are you ready for the challenge?

As usual, to participate in this week’s challenge, take your photo to the Facebook wall of the photographer’s blog: In the photo description, please mention the keyword?Abstract Challenge? Followed by a title of your choice.

For those who are not from Facebook, I have enabled the participation of new social networks.

Good picture

It seemed like a somewhat difficult challenge and the participation was going to be very low, I couldn’t have been more wrong. As an example, I leave the weekly selection here, this time a little more extensive than usual for the quality of the works presented.

I was impressed by Unique Rose’s photo, I don’t know how he did it, like most of the photos you participated with (this is part of the magic of abstract photography), but I like its composition, with lines to guide the eye in a circular direction. In the background, barely distinguishable figures suggest a group of people walking or running. There is a high black/white contrast underneath that recalls the earth and a well-lit sky.

In short, an excellent abstract snapshot. I can’t wait to find out how it was done.
