We had some challenges to play with light in different ways, this week we face him doing a semi-detached photograph, dare you?
Every week I will propose a new challenge, it is a topic that you will have to capture in a photo and upload it to the Facebook page of the blog by putting in the description the keyword that I will indicate for each topic. from portraits to macro photography, landscapes, black-and-white photography, or babies. The themes will be offered on Saturday, so you have the whole weekend to work. You’ll have one week to upload your photo (one photo per participant), until Friday of the following week. Friday or Saturday I will update the article with the photo that most captivated me and propose a new theme, and so on?
- Any experienced photographer will tell you to avoid backlight photography.
- Light is fundamental to a good photo.
- But for that it must be in our favor.
- Not against us.
- Why is this a challenge? This week it’s time to take some backlight photographs.
A photo against the light is a difficult photo. It is like swimming against the current, the first and most complicated difficulty you will encounter is that your subject will be very dark, however, it is capable of producing unique, different and very creative photographs if you know how to overcome this difficulty.
There are several techniques to overcome this difficulty and make it our benefit: using an extra flash or photographing silhouettes are some of these techniques that can help us take advantage of this situation.
As usual, to participate in this week’s challenge, upload your photo to the Facebook wall of the photographer’s blog: In the photo description, please mention the keyword? Backlight Challenge? followed by a title of your choice.
For those who are not from Facebook, I have enabled the participation of new social networks.
Thank you for participating and? Good light!
The level of participation and the quality of the work this week were IMPRESSIONS. The preparation of this selection manual has been expensive, the more jobs involved, the longer it takes to review each of the shots, but also, when managing the levels. photographic and artistic quality as demonstrated this week, imagine how difficult it is to return homework. Look at the quality of the work and the “photographic eye” that captured them. As always, this is a minimal selection, insignificant, compared to the number of very good photos I have seen this week. They cannot be downloaded. Everyone here, this is a simple example. If you participated in this week’s challenge, congratulations.
The photo I chose this week is an unusual backlight. This is not the traditional backlight that is photographed facing the sun, it is a kind of “backlight” that strictly adheres to the requirement to photograph from a low light position pointing towards the light source, the mouth of the meter in this case.
Looking at her, I appreciate the transition between light and darkness. Also, the fact that the roof is dark helps create that “island of light” that you can’t help but look at. I want to think that photography has a high degree of improvisation, but this is an example of how an explosion of creativity can surprise you anytime, anywhere. When you do, keep the camera close.
Congratulations David
Tomorrow’s new challenge. Have a great weekend for all of you.
