Playing with light is one of the most difficult but satisfying exercises a photographer can have, so today I challenge you to photograph in backlight, yes, I will add a difficulty: if in black and white ?, do you like the challenge? Here we go!
Every week I will propose a new challenge, it is a topic that you will have to capture in photo and upload it to the Facebook page of the blog by putting in the description the keyword that I will indicate for each topic. Topics range from portraits to macrophotography, landscapes, black-and-white photography, or babies. On Fridays topics will be offered, so you have the whole weekend to work. You’ll have one week to upload your photo (one photo per participant), until Thursday of the following week. On Thursday I will update the article with the photo that most captivated me and on Friday I propose a new theme so that you have all weekend to capture your images, etc.
- This week I propose a double challenge.
- It will not suffice to work with the backlight.
- Which in itself is an excellent exercise.
- But you will have to pay special attention to a scene that goes well in black and white.
- A game won.
- Because the backlights tend to look good in black and white.
- But don’t get carried away because you’ll have to do your part.
To help you I leave you the link to this article with tips to get into the backlight photograph and this one to improve your black and white photography. What are you waiting for to grab your camera and take pictures?
As usual, to participate in this week’s challenge, take your photo to the Facebook wall of the Photographer’s Blog: In the photo description, please mention the keyword?Black and white backlight challenge? Followed by a title of your choice.
Those of you who are not from Facebook have the following social networks to participate in.

Backlighting isn’t as easy as you might think, yet it’s given it the look. What a great job! I leave you a small sample, you know, it’s not all it is, but that’s it, if you don’t see your featured photo don’t get discouraged, there are a lot of photos received, it’s just a representative sample, what has impressed us the most something, a detail, a feeling?Photography is not an exact science, a strong emotion can wake me up and nothing, or something very different. Enjoy these backlights! And continue to participate in each challenge, because your greatest reward is to continue learning with your camera and enjoy each shot?
This week I’m celebrating Beatriz Padilla’s “Dancers,” two girls staring, waiting for someone, impatient. Enjoy the time of childhood, the time that belongs to you and that no one should steal from you. I like floating, white balloon, as part of their innocence, I like the spontaneity of the moment, the fact that they are outside the camera and that their faces do not see, because that way there is more room for imagination. The backlight allows you to appreciate the transparencias. de your tutus and reveal the main silhouette. A beautiful composition with a black and white that gives it a timelessness and an air of romanticism. The low contrast helps foster the sense of kindness conveyed by these two little dancers. A total success without even starting the show Congratulations, Beatrice.
Happy holidays!!
