Weekly Challenge 174: Black and White High Key (02/08/2016 to 08/09/2016)

After a few more relaxed and refreshing weeks, we return to routine and work. In the Photographer’s Blog we were not going to be any less, so today I propose a challenge to start the month and the course with the batteries well placed.

Every week I will propose a new challenge, it is a topic that you will have to capture in photo and upload it to the Facebook page of the blog by putting in the description the keyword that I will indicate for each topic. Topics range from portraits to macrophotography, landscapes, black-and-white photography, or babies. On Fridays topics will be offered, so you have the whole weekend to work. You’ll have one week to upload your photo (one photo per participant), until Thursday of the following week. On Thursday I will update the article with the photo that most captivated me and on Friday I propose a new theme so that you have all weekend to capture your images, etc.

  • If you follow this blog it is because you love photography and want to learn.
  • So far.
  • Isn’t it? Well.
  • For that you have to have challenges and one of them is the one that I propose this week.
  • Which is double.
  • Is a high key photograph and also in black and white.
  • What do I intend for this challenge? While working on two aspects of photography: technique and emotion.

This time the technique is more important than in other challenges, because to get a high key photograph (not overexposed or burned) you will have to follow a few very concrete steps, I insist, the high key is not overexposure.

Emotion because with this type of lighting technique it is possible to eliminate many positive emotions in the viewer, it is not just about applying the high key technique, it is about why and how you will revolutionize the feelings of the public. a little tenderness, joy or peace, for example, in a single image and send it directly to the heart of those who observe it. And you’ll help yourself with black and white so that color isn’t a distraction and because the high key in Gray Levels isn’t just another challenge, but an extra when it comes to moving. I can’t wait to see your picture!

As usual, to enter this week’s challenge, upload your photo to the photographer’s blog Facebook wall: In the photo description, please mention the keyword “High Key Black and White Challenge” followed by a caption of your choice.

Those of you who are not from Facebook have the following social networks to participate in.

Twitter: Upload the photo directly to Twitter with the hashtag #RetoClaveAltaBNBdF

Good picture

Again, do you come up with the facts of “duties” that prove you’re an excellent student?Thank you for taking the time to take high key photos. Here are the results of your effort (well, a summary):

This time I will highlight “Portrait of a Natural Calea” by gaachinte. It is a very expressive portrait that contains all the nuances of the grayscale, from the lowest to the highest to the different intermediate tones, although, as we have requested, there is a clear predominance of the treble. Although the background is “hyper” white, the woman’s skin does not burn, you can see the detail of her skin, even in the most illuminated areas. The eyes are perfectly focused and moved from the center, which is a composive success, I love it by raw light that accentuates the intense gaze of the protagonist and I love the flowers that surround her face and contrast with the pure white of the image. The author managed to capture an expression and a look that follows you for a while after you stopped looking at the image Bravo for this beautiful and captivating photograph!
