Weekly Challenge 171: In the Pool (12/08/2016 to 18/08/2016)

After a short break with the number “five”, we soak again to fight the summer heat, dare you?

Every week I will propose a new challenge, it is a topic that you will have to capture in photo and upload it to the Facebook page of the blog by putting in the description the keyword that I will indicate for each topic. Topics range from portraits to macrophotography, landscapes, black and white photography, or babies. On Fridays topics will be offered, so you have the whole weekend to work. You’ll have one week to upload your photo (one photo per participant), until Thursday of the following week. On Thursday I will update the article with the photo that most captivated me and on Friday I propose a new theme so that you have all weekend to capture your images, etc.

  • After photographing on the beach and on the water.
  • This week I suggest you capture a pool scene.
  • Again in the northern hemisphere we have more possibilities.
  • But if you are in the south you can also use indoor pools.

You can draw from the outside or from inside the water, at your choice. A portrait, an indelible memory, an interesting composition, an aerial perspective or a normal angle. Explore and enjoy all the possibilities of the pool. I challenge you to exploit your creativity, you have a photo example on the cover and the whole series made with the filling of a pool.

As usual, to participate in this week’s challenge, take your photo to the Facebook wall of the Photographer’s Blog: In the photo description, please mention the keyword?Pool challenge?followed by a title of your choice.

Those of you who are not from Facebook have the following social networks to participate in.

Twitter: Upload the photo directly to Twitter with the hashtag #PiscinaBdF Challenge

Good picture

For those of you who are going through a little heat, can I leave you a gallery to cool off?:

And among all these images I prefer “How Winter Passes” by Gaston Villarino. I liked this photo because although not having the possibility of summer, bathrooms, Gaston managed to reverse the challenge and make a plane that responds to the subject, and not only that, but it is a very suggestive image. It has a spectacular color that is more attractive by the reflection of light and water on the wall. This fascinating effect we all know. It is a symmetrical image but not boring at all, because ducks break it giving it dynamism and more interest. In addition, they are the absolute protagonists, these little birds have occupied the pool (as winter passes) and dance on the water generating the waves that transmit the movement. I like the shadows of the stairs on the wall and the way raw light was used to saturate the blue color and highlight the textures of the painting. Congratulations, Gaston!
