Weekly challenge 137: underground

Today I bring you an underground challenge. Literally, you’ll have to go down a few feet below the surface of the earth to participate, will you?

Every week I will propose a new challenge, it is a topic that you will have to capture in a photo and upload it to the Facebook page of the blog by putting in the description the keyword that I will indicate for each topic. from portraits to macro photography, landscapes, black-and-white photography, or babies. On Fridays topics will be offered, so you have the whole weekend to work. You’ll have one week to upload your photo (one photo per participant), until Thursday of the following week. On Thursday I will update the article with the photo that most captivated me and on Friday I will propose a new theme so that you have all weekend to capture your images, etc.

  • Maybe the first thing that comes to mind is a photograph of the subway.
  • Well.
  • It’s also valid.
  • Of course.
  • In fact.
  • The subway is a great place to photograph.
  • Just browse any Flickr-like gallery to see it.
  • Go further.
  • Because underground there are tunnels.
  • Caves.
  • Wells.
  • Underground cities.
  • Caves.
  • Caverns.
  • Mines.
  • Cenotes.
  • Underground nature is a wonderful world to discover.
  • Isn’t it?.

The challenge is to get a great photo in one of these places, light management is important because it is understood that sunlight barely reaches the ground, so you will need to use artificial light, you can use it to use a wide angle or photograph in black and white, in color, use natural framing, light as a creative element or whatever you want. We put the subject, creativity you. But show us how good you are by taking pictures and telling us what life is like there. I’m waiting for you!

As usual, to participate in this week’s challenge, take your photo to the Facebook wall of the photographer’s blog: In the photo description, please mention the keyword?Underground Challenge? Followed by a title of your choice.

For those who are not from Facebook, I have enabled the participation of new social networks.

Good picture

I leave you with this week’s summary gallery (isn’t it suitable for readers with claustrophobia?):

This week the mention is for “The Tunnels of Life”, roots that were captured underground, unloaded by Julio Sánchez although signed by Lola Santos, what a mess, right? But more complicated are these roots that seek their hollow beneath the surface of the earth. Although it is not a spectacular cave like other images in the gallery, I like this perspective that we have seen at most in some drawings but it is not usual to see it live or in images. I also like wet glass, because water, in addition to giving a touch of freshness to the image, brings the essence that each plant needs to live. The chromatic harmony is very pleasant, the lines that form the roots and stem guide the gaze, attracting the attention of the viewer and the horizon line is perfectly placed in the upper third to highlight the subject in question, which remains below the Earth. Bravo Lola (and/or July?) And thank you for participating again in the challenge (I know you are assiduous ;))!
