Weekly Challenge 106: NightScape

Have you ever photographed a nightscape? Noooo? Well, that’s what the challenges are for, challenging yourself to achieve what you haven’t dared to try yet.

Every week I will propose a new challenge, it is a topic that you will have to capture in a photo and upload it to the Facebook page of the blog by putting in the description the keyword that I will indicate for each topic. from portraits to macro photography, landscapes, black-and-white photography, or babies. The themes will be offered on Saturday, so you have the whole weekend to work. You’ll have one week to upload your photo (one photo per participant), until Friday of the following week. Friday or Saturday I will update the article with the photo that most captivated me and propose a new theme, and so on?

  • We are used to thinking about landscapes during the day.
  • It is natural.
  • Because normally when you see a landscape is by day and besides photography needs light.
  • Blah blah blah?We already know that.
  • However.
  • There is life beyond sunset.
  • Even light.
  • That of the moon.
  • That of the stars and even that of neighboring cities (luckily in this case or unfortunately for other things.
  • We do not get rid of light pollution).
  • I dare you to enjoy this light and capture an incredible and amazing nightscape.
  • You may have already read our book How to capture beautiful landscapes in which we give you many tips for this company.
  • If you have not done it can be a great opportunity And if not.
  • Nothing happens either because you have many other blog articles that tell you how to compose a landscape.
  • The ideal goals for landscapes.
  • The resources to master it.

Take us to a magical place at night, under cover of the moon or the stars, those of the sky or those artificial ones that illuminate the concrete of the cities, but show us your talent?

As usual, to participate in this week’s challenge, take your photo to the Facebook wall of the photographer’s blog: In the photo description, mention the keyword?Nightscape challenge? Followed by a title of your choice.

For those who are not from Facebook, I have enabled the participation of new social networks.

Good picture

The nightscapes you’ve sent are beautiful!Even an erupting volcano! Every day you surprise me more (and better?) Here’s a little sample:

As you know, choosing a photograph is really subjective. Photography is an art and, within certain minimum parameters of correction, many factors enter the choice, including personal or emotional, because the important thing, like any artistic work, is that it takes us away, it transports us to this place that moves us. or make us feel something special. That is why this week I want to highlight the image of Arturo Enrique Merino Espinoza. Although I am very close to the sea and the photos of the beach throw me a lot (you have to notice a lot), the Jahuel hot springs grabbed me. Its author took the image from a successful nadir angle, an extreme perspective enhanced by a wide angle that makes you feel the embrace of the trees. When I saw the photo, I instantly imagined myself lying in a sleeping bag, in the light of the stars and with a bonfire nearby giving me warmth. It reminded me of how wonderful it is to be in the middle of nature to be able to contemplate the dance of the stars that the firmament gives us every night, the silence that overwhelms in the middle of the mountain when night falls and that only the sound of animals can break. Beautiful color harmony dotted with moving stars in the image for long exposure shooting. In this way, he was also able to capture the light emitted by the city in the background, as if it were a fire. Thank you for transporting us to the heart of nature at night!
