The race for the Oscars has begun: look who ahead

While it is true that normally at this time of year we have already seen the film that will win the Oscar for Best Picture (and so it has been until early November for 11 years), all the signs point to one result: Tom McCarthy’s film, “Spotlight”. This film describes the Boston Globe’s journalistic efforts to report sexual abuse within the Catholic Church. Does it offer a cinematic and intelligent inspiration that will undoubtedly give McCarthy his first nomination for Best Picture? And, so far, silently, he has found hes hes heses at the height of the Oscars race.

This status came for two reasons: first, that most people love the film very much and its director, and second, the difficult task of imagining that something else wins. Bridge of Spies: Being nominated for a grand prix at the Oscars seems to be a safe bet, but could I win? It’s hard to imagine a classic drama that gets this far (especially given its slightly lower-than-expected box office result). The same goes for Danny Boyle ‘Steve Jobs’, Ridley Scott ‘S The Martian’, Lenny Abrahamson ‘S Room’, John Crowley ‘S Brooklyn’, Tom Hooper’s ‘The Danish Girl’. by Pete Docter and,? Todd Haynes?None of them found exactly the same uniformity of praise that spread over “the spotlights. “It’s easy to see one of them (or maybe all) with (several) nominations, but none of them carry a vanguard in their aura. But beware, most people in the industry have said variations of the same thing about “Birdman?”a year ago, and look what happened at the Oscars.

  • One of the reasons it’s so hard to make predictions in this Oscar category is that this year there’s a group of very high-end movies waiting until the last minute to be seen.
  • We have new quentin Tarantino movies ( ? The Hateful Eight?).
  • David O.
  • Russell (?Joy?).
  • Alejandro Gonzalez Isrritu (? The Revenant?) And Ron Howard (? In The Heart of Sea?) And it’s unlikely to make it to the big screen before Thanksgiving (last Thursday in November) To varying degrees.
  • Each of them could be a stranger in the Oscar game.

So, until that happens or not, this category will remain darker than the rest of the Oscars, especially because of the candidate’s rule on a mobile scale: depending on the number of votes for the first one each movie receives on voter ballots, the category can have five to ten candidates, making any kind of prediction very difficult , but that excites Oscar more, doesn’t it?

My humble opinion of the possible candidates for the best film is below, and we will update it as soon as we receive more information (the names are all in English, because some films have not yet arrived in Brazil).
