The (hidden) of your camera

I know how strange it is to find an article about photography on a photography blog without the article containing a single illustrative photograph. Is it like visiting a library and finding it empty of books? Unless the books are hidden behind a second wall, well hidden, out of the reach of prying hands.

Minor events such as falling water droplets, the cruel and capricious fate of a tree leaf, or the endless waiting for a go for a crumb of bread contain unique moments in your life. Your small, insignificant vibrations are your “custom” version of the world, only you live what you experience the precise way you live it. Only you see what you see wherever you are. From your hiding place behind the viewer, you rule the world, your world. Everything in your domain becomes immortal and contagiously human, expressive, alive: Pipo’s provocative gaze in her basket, Rafaela’s unanswered questions, or Jacobo’s very serious and ambitious future plans.

  • Of all the forms of communication that have been and have been.
  • I believe that photographic expression is the most sincere.
  • Every time you shoot with your camera.
  • You capture a promise.
  • Represent a hope.
  • Share an emotion.
  • You become memory stories that very few have paid attention to.

Facing the uncertain and hidden face of the future, the unattainable dreams of the people, the fears that precede the great jumps, the long, agonizing and murderous waits, or the cold moments of bewilderment and blindness, there are the small moments full of laughter, The warm afternoons with your grandmother or the pledges of loyalty that one day you made to your best friend, is the legacy, your emotional legacy as a photographer.

Every time you take a photo, believe me, you change the lives of one, tens or even thousands of people who see, appreciate and experience each of your photos to a greater or lesser extent. Each of the photos you just saw in this text (Did you click on the links, right?) It triggered an avalanche of connections between your neurons. You just had 19 little stories. You know James, you didn’t even notice. That’s the power of photography.

If you have a camera, that’s the power you have

Thank you for continuing to take photos, for continuing to create emotions, for capturing light and telling stories. Above all, thank you for sharing your hobby with me.
