While he didn’t discuss it at the “The Eight Hateful” press conference? In New York, Quentin Tarantino has again talked about his possible plans to retire from film after ten films on Bret Easton Ellis’ podcast (listen here). Tarantino reiterated that he wanted to emerge victorious with an excellent film, but also warned that he could do eleven or more if number ten doesn’t come out with the explosion he wants. Tarantino said he still has two films to make and 4 1/2 ideas? That could potentially turn into potential movies.
What could it be? During the above-mentioned press conference, Tarantino talked about some different ideas (which may or may not be the same ideas she referred to in Ellis’ podcast). The filmmaker reiterated the idea of extending his Western fetish into a trilogy, making a mini TV version of Elmore Leonardm’s book “Forty Whips Minus One”.
- “The third western could really be a TV show.
- ” Tarantino said.
- “Have I already had the rights for a while? I got it.
- Then I lost it and then I got it back.
- There’s a project I’m really interested in.
- It’s an Elmore Leonard book called “Forty Whips Minus One.
- “”Actually.
- I think if you want to call yourself a Western director today.
- You have to make at least three [movies].
- And I’d really like to do [Leonard’s book] as a miniseries.
- Something with an hour per episode.
- Four or five hours – I write and direct everything.
- And it’s similar to? Django [Unchained]? And “The Hateful Eight” because it’s about race and everything happens in a territorial prison.
- It’s a very good book and I’ve always wanted to tell this story.
- So let’s see.
- ?.
At the end of the press conference, the event was transformed into a post-press conference, during which Tarantino answered other questions from reporters, while Tarantino also discussed two other ideas, or at least removed one genre from his list.
When asked if he would ever make a pure horror film, the director said he didn’t really want to do it. I don’t know. I did my little horror movie deconstruction with [?Death Proof?], but I don’t think I have the right temperament to do something like “The Exorcist,” is it more or less the same tone of fear in the whole movie?. ? I like to break some [tones]. If I really made a horror movie, it would be something like that [breaking the tones], but honestly, I don’t think I have the right character. I like to go up and down and up and down and I think it’s far from horrible. ?
Finally, when asked if there was a genre he had not referred to, Tarantino talked about the long-debated idea of a period gangster film. “It would be fun to make a movie in the gangster of the ’30s, like “Bonnie and Clyde” or “Dillinger,” with Tommy guns and that sort of thing. It’s something I didn’t do and it would be great.
So, if Tarantino thinks she has 4 1/2 movie ideas, that doesn’t confirm that the ideas mentioned above are on her list, but probably at least one of them is (and I guess Leonard’s adaptation is one). we know, he’s interested in something he didn’t mention at the press conference (and given his story with sequels, he’d probably bet against a “Kill Bill 3,” especially if he thinks about retirement and would like to try new things).
Thoughts If there will only be two Tarantino films, and who knows if it sticks to that; See what happened to Steven Soderbergh? What would you like to see? The eight enemies: December 25 to 70 mm in the US are the only ones in the World State. But it’s not the first time Then, in other formats, it debuted in Brazil and around the world.
