Photoreto8: Symmetry

I bring you a new theme for you to choose your camera and practice your favorite pastime: photography.

Our Photoretum aims to encourage you to practice photography, encourage you every week to spend time with your camera and unleash your creativity while practicing and learning.

  • The concept of Fotoreto is very simple: every Friday I will propose a new video photo theme.
  • Sometimes I will show you an example of a photo to inspire you.
  • Other times I will only give you a clue or a tip that can be applied when making the Photoretum.

Each time, you will have 7 days to participate in the Photoretum of the week in question, until the following Thursday, download it to your favorite social network (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter or Flickr) once we have posted the call and not to mention the hashtag or tag corresponding to the Fotoretum in question. This week will be Photoreto8.

Each week, we select a winning photo. The photo author will get his favorite book from our BdF eBook library.

When you participate in the Fotoretum, we understand that you allow the photographer’s blog to publish your photo, under no circumstances do you give us your copyright, the author of the photograph and who maintains the exclusivity of the copyright is you.

This week I propose something that you can capture with any type of camera, even with a smartphone, it’s about symmetries, a theme that gives a lot of play and that can be found anywhere.

Can you break the symmetries, play with rhythms and patterns, with contrasts or colors for example, now I want to see what you are capable of with these themes ?.

When you have your photo upload it to Instagram, Facebook, Twitter or Flickr with the hashtag Fotoreto8. We’ll review all the images you upload to all four platforms from this article.

I’m waiting for your picture

One more week, he’s been fully involved, so we have great photos on Instagram, Facebook, Flickr and Twitter.

The winning photograph of this photoreto8 belongs to Yamila (@montyyam) and this one is so wonderful:

I chose this image because it is an imperfect symmetry and that is precisely what makes it perfect, attractive, interesting. In fact, that’s just one of the reasons, is there more?Another reason is that I like the story it tells; the two girls (I suppose sisters) in perfect harmony; maintain the fragile balance, in an intimate and delicate moment that we have the opportunity to witness thanks to the good eye of its author; that lets their faces be seen in the dark, letting the imagination do its job.

I like the low perspective, the woody background that contrasts with the straight lines of the door that reinforce the symmetry of the figures, the timeless black and white, the reflections of the glass that give continuity from one side of the image to the other, as the girls window frames like everything. And if you want to know more about the soul of the photo, I recommend that you visit it in the gallery of its author and read it in his own words. And now, by the way, you can take a look at his work, complete with stories and emotion.

Tomorrow a new Photoretum with which we will see things normally difficult to see. And so far I can read?
