I bring you a new theme for you to choose your camera and practice your favorite pastime: photography.
Our Photoretum aims to encourage you to practice photography, encourage you every week to spend time with your camera and unleash your creativity while practicing and learning.
- The concept of Fotoreto is very simple: every Friday I will propose a new video photo theme.
- Sometimes I will show you an example of a photo to inspire you.
- Other times I will only give you a clue or a tip that can be applied when making the Photoretum.
Each time, you will have 7 days to participate in the Photoretum of the week in question, until the following Thursday, download it on your favorite social network (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter or Flickr) once we have published the call and not to mention the hashtag or tag corresponding to the Fotoretum in question. This week it will be Fotoreto11.
Each week, we select a winning photo. The photo author will get his favorite book from our BdF eBook library.
When you participate in the Fotoretum, we understand that you allow the photographer’s blog to publish your photo, under no circumstances do you give us your copyright, the author of the photograph and who maintains the exclusivity of the copyright is you.
This week we propose to photograph your pet (or that of your cousin, your neighbor, etc. ) Is this a task similar to photographing a portrait but with some peculiarities ?. We recommend using a target similar to the king of targets, which is brilliant so you can get a good blur.
It is also convenient to avoid typical mistakes when photographing a pet;).

We knew that you would like this week’s theme and that this photoreto11 would be very successful, and we did not make mistakes, you can see the results in the different galleries: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Flickr.
The winning photo may already have it intuitive, because it has revolutionized our social networks with likes and comments and it is not for less. This is the image of Javi Clavero, which has no title but reaches directly into the heart.
If we talk about the technical part, I must emphasize the control of lighting by its author, I really like the way he used the discreet touch to arouse emotion in the viewer and how he came to the profile of the dog through light. The whiskers and hair are perfectly visible, as if you could caress them through the screen. I also like the composition with the use of negative space to highlight the protagonist and leave the air before the eyes.
But if we go to the soul of the photo, it doesn’t fall behind. The expression of this animal, without looking at us directly, is shocking and captivating, and also conveys a lot of tenderness. It is a photograph as simple as it is beautiful and full of sensations, and when I say simple I do not speak of execution, which is not easy, but of its visual part, minimalism, at least it is more.
Congratulations Javi, with minimal visual expression, you have reached the maximum emotional expression.
