Photo exhibition through my student Marina Skell

With more than 8 years of circulation, more than 1000 articles published on BdF, more than 9 published photography books, more than 3000 students enrolled in our School of Photographers, I still wonder, from time to time, if what we do, we share it. and teach that it’s useful for something even.

The idea that someone can read our messages just to “get out” doesn’t make me proud. Make no mistake, everyone is free to read or stop reading as you please. Except that BdF and EdF are two humble projects with which I try to “contaminate” as many people so that they feel the same passion for photography that I felt the day I bought my first camera. I collapse when I think someone reads our documents and does nothing to implement what they’ve learned. Everything my team and I teach only makes sense when you put it into practice and give it a few noses as we say here.

But there are also times when my face lights up and I begin to believe that my efforts are paying off.

There are times when people in the hospital write to me to tell me that through what we publish and teach, they feel a little less pain and loneliness. Some have read one of our books or taken our photography course, and have lived a fascinating journey in front of them that leads them to live off photography.

Today I wanted to share with you a small story of Marina, a student of our online reflex photography course and our Lightroom course that he wrote to me telling me that a few days ago he was able to inaugurate his first photographic exhibition with the title MAMA, a very serious photographic project that revolves around the family bond. The exhibition takes place in Madrid (Artespacio Plot Point, 29 Ercilla Street), so if you live nearby, I invite you to come and take a look at the magnificent collection of about 100 photographs that deal with the theme of human connection with the mother. Pure poetry in visual form.

If you can’t get close to the exhibition or don’t live nearby, at least I’ll leave you the video where you can see a sample of the exhibition, if you like, leave a comment about the video to Marina.

It is worth continuing to work with successes such as Marina with BdF and EdF to spread the love and passion for photography as a tool of communication and expression.
