Literary recommendation: The great book of digital photography (Ben Long)

We continue with our literary recommendations section with the books we liked the most, this time I will tell you about a complete work that will answer almost any questions you have about photography.

I am aware that there is a lot of information about photography networks, which is fantastic, but I always recommend having at least one good photography manual at home, and Ben Long’s Big Book of Digital Photography is one of those works.

  • Anyone looking for a complete reference manual to have it as a reference book.
  • Since it has absolutely all aspects related to shooting and editing the image.
  • Going through the configuration of the camera.
  • Its maintenance.
  • The choice of the best computer.
  • Exercises to see better.
  • Special photographic techniques.
  • Advanced exposure techniques?.

Everything you ask has an answer in this book, if you don’t have a reference manual, this can be and will be a very good choice.

This manual is divided into an introduction and 22 chapters with the following content:

Ben Long is a photographer, writer and trainer. He has written a dozen reference books on digital photography and video, created numerous tutorials for Lynda. com, taught numerous courses around the world and worked for clients such as 20th Century Fox, Blue Note Records, Global Business Network, San Francisco Jazz Festival, etc. You have trained Apple engineers or created image editing utilities that use National Geographic, the British Museum, or the White House.

I’ve advanced it a little earlier. It is a reference book, a manual where you can go for absolutely (or almost) all the doubts that arise as an amateur photographer and something beyond, because it covers all aspects and situations and will serve as a guide in case of doubt. composition to camera settings, through different techniques, revealing images, etc.

It’s a little dense and visually low, but that’s the price to pay for having such a large amount of information collected in a book. I understand that if this were not the case, the book would have an unflattering size and price ;-). So I recommend you try it, because it’s so much better than it looks at first.

It’s a very, very complete job, and I always recommend having at least one on the shelf. A reference book that will clear your doubts of almost everything you might ask yourself when you started as a photographer (and much later as well). If you want to be on the right foot and with a good theoretical basis in the world of photography, I recommend you give this wonderful “The Great Book of Digital Photography” a try.

I hope this analysis was of use to you. If so, share it so that someone else can enjoy it or why not give it to you ;-). Thanks and I’ll see you soon.
