Today I bring you a special literary recommendation, of the last thing I read about photography, that is what I enjoyed most and learned, in many ways.
I couldn’t wait to share it with you.
There is no formula to learn to see, just have the eyes of a mosquito and the look of a child.
If you like nature photography, if you are looking for inspiration, if you want to immerse yourself in photography in general and creativity in particular, it is a book to open the senses, to enjoy each image and each reflection.
Looking for recipes on how to take a photo, you expect rules or very technical advice. This is not a book to learn how to photograph manually or control light, it is more of a book to learn more about you and how to put previous knowledge into practice.
A book to find the way of dream worlds through our photographs
Imagining Worlds is a special publication because it is a very personal vision of the author, he feels the care and effort he made to see the light, he feels the passion he puts on photography and the generosity with which he shares his knowledge and his most personal reflections.
This seems to me to be a jewel of inspiration not to be missed. You will find images full of beauty, reflections, tips, experiences and poetry.
Let’s look at the chapters that make up it
In this first chapter, the author presents us with the different ways of working when taking photos, places, what we want or not, the importance of creating lists of ideas to make the photographs that we want or imagine, or what it means to undertake a project, with its drawbacks and advantages, how much it can contribute us or how we can carry it out.
Don’t expect to find basic composition rules or typical errors to avoid in this chapter. This chapter goes much further, deepening the levels of expression and narrative resources of a photograph. How to communicate visually through, for example, a metaphor or paradox All with very illustrative examples. A very interesting chapter.
All photographs reflect, by 50%, the outside world and, by 50%, the photographer’s inner world.
I think this is one of the chapters I liked the most (and played). A challenge to limits, physical, spatial and emotional or cognitive.
A chapter to reconcile with your creative part, to find out how to wake her up. An allegation to the innocent gaze of childhood, which allows to see without limits imposed or self-imposed.
Getting excited about photographing and moving with your photo is the theme of this chapter, which includes a section on emotion through color, with different colors and what you can transmit with them.
Don’t learn, doubt the established, make mistakes and forget the rules, everything is part of the way.
In this chapter it also offers some ideas to go beyond the familiar, to try different things, etc. , suggestions to find the way of our dreams and capture them in our photographs.
Who hasn’t ever bothered to find their own photographic style? In Chapter 7, Uge reflects on this fundamental theme.
This is the most technical chapter of the whole text, but at the same time really creative. Do not expect to find the basic photographic techniques, but rather those that will lead you to make different and surprising images. It ends with some very useful ones. tips for multiple exposure photography.
A walk through the history of illustrated painting from photographs inspired by different movements, ideas to take photographs with pictorial effects, and finally proposes an exercise in which self-knownness, emotion, creativity and photography are combined.
Born in Monreal del Campo (Teruel) in 1973, Uge Fuertes Sanz is an environmental officer by profession and melomaniast, naturalist and photographer, equally, in his free time. Working in the countryside and observing nature has been a constant in his life since he was a child.
He embarked on nature photography in an intense way almost inadvertently, when he bought his first camera eleven years ago.
He is a member of several photographic associations: ASFOBA, SFT, ASAFONA and AEFONA and Portfolio Natural.
His images have been awarded in national and international competitions such as Wildwife Photographer of the Year, GDT Nature Photographer of the Year, Oasis Photo Contest, Aspheric, Navara, MontPhoto, Memorial Maria Luisa, Photo Contest of the Festival of Water and Nature, Montier -en-Der Photo Festival Competition, Melvita Nature Images Awards, EDC Ntura, BioConPhototest, Golden Turtle, FotoFIO and Glanzlichter.
His images can be seen in several individual and collective exhibitions, as well as in many magazines and books (such as the one I examined from Parasos Naturales).
Experimenting and looking for new methods and ways of looking is a constant in my photographic work, as well as agitation and non-compliance with established standards; When I take pictures, I try to navigate the uncertain and surprising seas of creativity.
Everything, the images, the poetry, the unique vision of Uge, the way it takes you by the hand so that you can find your own path, the delicacy with which photography deals, nature or any other subject you talk about.
The author is a pure sensibility and that is noticeable in his words and in his work.
The book is full of photographs that will make you sigh. You like more or less nature photography, it’s an inspirational photo, this goes straight to the heart of your passion for photography.
I would only say one thing (and to make complaints because I really liked everything). As a suggestion for future editions of this book or others, I would recommend to the author the possibility of using a more linear typography (Swiss type). I think it would be more in harmony with the edition of the book, as well as with a less black color. The size is perfect, very nice to read without leaving the look. Just an opinion?.
This publication is a journey through the emotions and way to get to the world we dream of and imagine in pictures.
It combines composition, technique, creativity, poetry, sensitivity, sigh images and much more.
It is a book to offer, learn, appreciate and grow as photographers
