The son of a traditional photographer from Ouro Preto, photographer Eduardo Tropia is a young photographer with 45 years of experience, started in the world of light writing in his father’s darkroom, Milton Tropia, and perfected himself by studying with Dimas Guedes. , geologist graduated from the School of Minas da Ufop who is dedicated to recording the daily life of Ouro Preto, other influences were Walter Firmo, Alair Gomes, Eredio Luigi, Miguel Aum, Heber Bezerra and Alan Rodrigues; he was soon already a professional, working in product photography, cultural and tourist projects and photojournalism. He was a photographer in the Magazine section and editor-in-chief of the newspaper O Tempo du Minas Gerais, which revolutionized the culture books of Minas Gerais.
The retrospective exhibition brings together his main works, focusing on the last ten years, during which Eduardo Tropia developed the author, strongly linked to the Baroque, Ouro Preto and the historical cities, you can see expressive moments of the photographer’s trajectory, such as the Baroque series.
