Remember the 8K cinema camera that Canon announced it was developing? They have a prototype at Canon EXPO NY.
The new camera comes in a body very similar to that of Canon’s most popular camera, the C300 Mark II. However, some things are different. For example, this new Canon 8K Cinema camera sends many more SDI signals and is capable of recording 8K 60p in 4 Convergent Design/ Odyssey 7Q. It’s important to note that this is just a prototype trying to test a new concept, and when Canon launches a camera like this, it may not look anything like the camera we see in this exhibition. But it’s great to know that Canon is working hard to improve our AV experiences. Speaking of audiovisual experience, Canon also displays some of the 8K images on its 8K reference monitors, so we ask that if you are or have been at the convention, feel free to share your visual experience.

Today at Canon EXPO 2015 in New York, Canon unveiled a new EOS 8K series film camera prototype. The camera system is complemented by four Convergent Design Odyssey7Q monitors / recorders, each capable of capturing Canon RAW. or process video data to record in popular formats like Apple ProRes. The new camera system concept illustrates the new generation of image recording, visualization and processing, and the Convergent design is proud to lead the way with Canon.

The 8K system EOS cinema camera under development will be equipped with a Canon CMOS sensor equivalent to a Super 35mm that can record high resolution images at 8192 x 4320 pixels (approximately 35. 39 million effective pixels) with high performance. even at a 60fps frame rate with 13 stops of dynamic range and a richly expressive color range.

The company has a number of prototypes at the fair, including a 120-megapixel DSLR that they announced along with the 8K camera, as well as a new 600mm main lens. Although there is no mix of real products in this type of exhibition, they certainly have a lot of items that may or may not see daylight. At least that leaves us incentivized for what awaits us in the future, perhaps in the not too distant future.
Apparently Canon is also showing a prototype of another device, but this time of a different type, some virtual reality headsets (also known as VR) and some ways in which they were able to make a good VR recording, although it is not clear when. we did it. I’ll see something like that from Canon in the real world, there’s no question they have the technology to do it if they really wanted to. They make all the screens and all the lenses, plus they obviously already produce their own cameras, so it wouldn’t be very surprising if at some point in the future they presented something that will really change the way we see the world.
