Many times on the photographer’s blog you will have read the importance of a target in photography on a creative level, many times we recommend buying a cheaper camera and investing in objectives, since they are the door to creativity, the instrument that will allow you to take very different photos, either by the focal length or by its opening. The thing is, a goal opens up a world of possibilities for you. In mobile photography, wasn’t it going to be less?. That is why today I propose this article dedicated to mobile objectives.
It is clear that we will not compare these lenses with the range offered by SLR cameras. That’s not my intention at all. However, it is true that these lenses also expand your creative possibilities when it comes to taking photos with your smartphone, and that’s what we’re interested in, especially because of the low price they have, for very little money you can have fun and experiment to see if they like them, for example, fisheye effect photos.
Before proceeding, I’ll introduce you to the pros and cons of these accessories.
The lenses you can find for smartphones are usually delivered in a kit that includes all or more of these types.
MACRO
To increase the pattern. There are different increases, so if that’s one of the goals you plan to take advantage of, I recommend you look at the number of increases, in the following image you can see the difference. I think at least it’s worth a try, don’t you think? In this case, it is an increase of 10x.
With this type of lens, you can capture distant objects as if they were closer. It may seem like an approach, but it doesn’t work the same way. Unless you have a high-end mobile with a specific telephoto camera, which is very close, like this mobile, what you will get with the zoom is to make an extension. It’s the same thing you can get with the photo cropping and magnification editor, with its consequent loss of quality.
Allows a wider viewing angle, that is, captures a greater part of the scene. Ideal for landscapes or photos of large groups. You’ll notice it more or less depending on the focal length of your mobile camera. For example, in This comparison you won’t notice much difference, but this mobile that I now have covers more scene than before, I know that with others I would have noticed much more difference, if you usually complain that the group of friends in the image does not match or that you should always walk away to match the subject, this lens will be very useful.
The fisheye is like a larger extreme angle that also has a creative effect. Images appear distorted, with sharply curved lines. To continue with the factory example, here’s the comparison.
Now, another scene in which you can see the difference better, is as far as I could get from the door because behind it was a wall, in these two photos you can see the difference between photographing with or without fisheye, forgives the quality of the photos, but the idea was to check the part of the scene that could cover this mobile lens.
Here I leave you with another image taken with fisheye
I discovered this option thanks to a family member of the agronomist who works with insects in plants, who gave it to me. It’s perhaps the least creative when it comes to photography, but I find it very interesting for anyone who wants to see the smallest things enlarged and also be able to photograph them. The only thing is that you’ll have a picture like the example, a circle with the pattern and the black rest. At least as far as I can prove it. I’ll leave you with a sample.
A polarizing lens helps remove reflections, whether glass, water or any metal or reflective surface.
I’ll leave you with some recommendations. Take a look, the offer on Amazon is quite wide and affordable. The examples I gave them of the plant were resumed with this first kit.
AUKEY
Three goals in one are the ones I have (when the Wizards of the East brought them to me, weren’t there so much offer and much less telephoto lenses?). The clamp is very comfortable, it comes with a bag. The wide angle goes hand in hand, you have to screw or unscrew to use one or the other. The problem is that I lost a lid the first day and of course, inside the bag with the tweezers is easily scratched ?. Otherwise very convenient and I am very satisfied. For the price they have ((price not available at the moment)) they offer you many creative possibilities, as we have already mentioned.
ARORY
This seems to me to be one of the most complete kits because it includes: a 12x magnification telephoto lens, a wide-angle lens (0. 65x), a macro lens (12x, minimum focus distance 10-25 mm), a fisheye lens (180 degrees), a star filter lens (so that the lights flash instead of looking like dots), five caps, a cleaning cloth , two clips, an instruction manual, a bag and a wireless trigger.
This kit includes 7 lenses: telephoto lens (2x zoom), fisheye (198), macro (15x), wide angle (0. 63X), super wide angle 0. 36x, CPL lens (polarizer)) and kaleidoscopic lens (allows you to see a series of overlapping images of the scene). And the case looks very practical and safe for lenses.
It is the same with which I took the photo of the sheet, it is not a big thing, it is true, but with this ridiculous price, I think that if you want to play, experiment or even if you need it for some of your works, it may be useful. You just need to know what it is for and how far it can go. Don’t expect to remove the black background as it looks just like what you would look at under the microscope (poor quality, of course?).
I’ll leave you with these options. Although there’s more, if you’ve been a little caught up in the eye, I recommend you take a look and choose the option that suits you best, you’ll see how you discover a before and after in the possibilities of your mobile to photograph.
