The Lomo or Lomography cameras are inspired by very simple and inexpensive cameras that became popular in Russia in the early 1980s. These are compact automatic chambers with 35 mm coils and made of simple materials (usually plastic).
- These Lomo cameras were created by the Leningrad Union of Optics and Mechanics (Leningr-dskoje Optiko Mechanitschéskoje Objedinénie).
- From which his name was born: LOMO.
After a period of great expansion, other cameras replaced them, leaving them obsolete until the early 1990s, during which they became popular again to reach the present day.
Let’s look at some of the main features of this type of cameras, taking into account that there are several models, all with different and specific characteristics.
