An exhibition at the Museum of Inconfidance analyses Chinese in The Baroque Mineiro

The Museum of Inconfidance (Ibram / MinC) opens, at 20:30 h.Friday, March 31, the Baroque X Chinesice exhibition?Chinese influence on The Mineiro Baroque? Photographs and objects.The Manoel da Costa Athaide Room, Appendix I, will receive objects from the collection and private collections, as well as photographs of the miner Eduardo Tropia, with the aim of analyzing the presence of China in Brazil through various artistic manifestations, between the end of the sixteenth century early nineteenth century, period in which the Baroque modeled the altarpieces, paintings, sculptures and furniture , revealing the customs of social life of an “elite” led by Portuguese colonial commerce.

The decorative elements of Chinese origin observed in several churches of Minas Gerais, such as Ouro Preto, Ouro Branco, Sabaro and Tiradentes, inspired the process of creating Tropia, who used the overlapping of images in a contemporary proposal, highlighting the oriental motifs shown in 2016, one of the main works that make up the exhibition, which uses the image of the church of Santa Efigsnia de Ouro Preto as a support , represented Brazil in the VI Jinan International Photography, biennial of photography in China, in the theme The Return to Oriental Wisdom.The tour is free and will take place from Tuesday to Sunday, from 10 to 18 hours, until April 30.
