Today I’m going to talk to you about 5 basic Adobe Lightroom actions to apply to all your photos, because while each image requires one type of development or another, we dare say that there are certain basic Lightroom actions that you should know about. and apply to each of your images, regardless of the image in question.
Don’t forget that Adobe Lightroom is one of the leading editors of photographers, because it’s not only very complete in terms of image development, but it’s also very intuitive and allows you to organize your photos extremely efficiently.
- Always keep in mind that no matter which editor you want to use.
- The best results will be obtained by working in raw format.
- There really is a lot of difference in quality in editing.
- So I recommend using it if you want to have absolute control over the development of your image.
The basic lightroom actions we’ll see today will be
If you’re looking for “goal correction” tools in the Adobe Lightroom interface, you’ll see that it’s not one of the first to appear, but much lower, towards the end.
However, this is the one I always request first, for a very simple reason, has experience made me do it like this?. Let me explain, like most others, that I was reviewing the options Lightroom gave me step by step, starting at the top and going through the different options in the right pane.
However, I found that the lens correction option not only alters distortion, but also plays a role in aberration and vignette, such that the image itself varies beyond shape.
That this happens when the image is already adjusted in almost all scenarios, personally, it bothered me a lot, that’s why I moved it at the beginning of my workflow.
Anyway, use it in the order that suits you best, but do you?. Lightroom (LR) primarily detects the make and model of your lens by itself, otherwise you can search for it in the infinite drop-down list where it probably appears.
Another basic action in Lightroom that I offer is the color profile. This is great as a starting point for starting editing your images. Lightroom gives you the option to choose between color, standard, landscape, portrait, vivid colors, or monochrome.
As you’ll see, editing is very subtle, but it can be a good starting point to start developing your photos, here’s an example of an image taken in RAW format with each of lightroom’s options in its color profile.
White balance is the dominant color of an image, there are images with neutral tone, such as those taken with flash or central hours of the day, but the image can also tend to warm tones (interior lights, sunsets . . . ) or cold (blue hour, fluorescent lights?).
These keyings are fixed in Lightroom by temperature and tone. Moving the temperature slider to the left will correct the “image cooling” and moving the cursor to the right will add heat.
Personally, I like to leave the image neutral until the other reveal settings are applied, then you can go back and give it the finishing touch if you want your image to tend to warm or cold tones, but as always it’s better than you Do you have the right workflow for you?
You can also use Lightroom auto-fix options. Remember that any white balance correction tool adds its opposite until it leaves the image in a neutral tone.
That is, for example, a “tungsten” white balance adds cold to compensate for the heat of this type of light, and a shaded scale (cold tone) adds heat.
In the images I show you, you’ll see it clearly
All detail settings, such as focus and noise, apply them by always looking at the result with a 1:1 magnification, this is the best way to see in detail the Lightroom settings or actions you apply to your image.
Recommendation: never abuse any kind of scenario, it is easy to fall into the overprocessed image and the result ends up looking unreal, this is difficult, but it is always better to apply each of the parameters in a very moderate, almost imperceptible way.
And you know, the more correct the image you develop in terms of focus and exposure, the better the end result.
